postlet #23

OK, this is going to happen once in a while. I am currently buried at work, so you won't see anything earthshaking from me in at least a day, maybe two. I'll be back soon. Stay tuned for reviews of The Time Traveler's Wife, It's A Wonderful Life, and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

Last weekend I discovered that one of my dreadlocks is shaped like the "crooked road" in Joe vs. the Volcano. Even my dreads are film geeks. I wonder if any of the other ones have a favorite film...

Will somebody please explain to me what is the big flippin' deal about Twitter? The media can't seem to shut up about it. I tried it long ago, and never got anything out of it. Truth be told, I am much more Facebooky. But seriously, if there's a reason I should care about this Twitter thing, would you please let me know?

So Captain Crash is off living with his mommy in Arizona. Greg is doing who knows what somewhere with a high school girl*. And Nathaniel and I broke up on Wednesday**. So it's back to just me and Zoe the putty tat. Ah, well. Maybe now I'll have time to catch a movie here and there.

*Don't really know, don't care to know.
**I hold him in the highest respect; we just couldn't agree on a deal-breaking issue.

Reason #57,483 why I love living alone: the freedom to weep loudly and shamelessly in my living room while watching sappy girl movies. (I saw Stepmom and The Notebook last night.)

Keeping in mind that Pistola is deeply in love with her boyfriend, and that I am fabulously in like with Nathaniel, and hoping that you'll receive this with the self-deprecating and ironic spirit that we intend: Pistola and I have decided that relationships are for bitches.

Captain Crash is leaving me. Good for the swinging bachelorette pad... bad for the swinging bachelorette's budget. I gotta get me one of those part-time job thingies.

Oh, and I suppose I'll miss the big lug...

Note to all Minnesota movie-goers: the folks at the Brookdale 8 Cinema have stopped trying. The place is falling apart. There's a funky smell. The boors who frequent this establishment have loud conversations mid-movie, unchecked by management. It can't even be called a dollar theater anymore, as the ticket price has been raised to $3. For the same price, the Riverview is a much better option.

Attention parents!

I don't care if it's a kids' movie.... if your kid can't stay quiet and pay attention, or if he can't follow the movie without asking numerous loud questions, you have no business bringing him to a public theater.

I so meant to blog more, but this weekend has been amazing. It's that kind of weather that makes you thrilled just to be alive... and also makes you forget about your laptop for a bit.

And, whatever. I'll be back.

Captain Crash and I went to Perkins last night. Must have been Kids' Night because, inexplicably, Superman was roaming the restaurant. I don't think it was really him, though. To my knowledge, the real Superman doesn't paint faces or make balloon animals. And if he did, wouldn't he just use his laser eyes or something?

Everyone knows it's not cool to talk during the movie. But could you shut up during the previews, too? Thanks a bunch.

We got 8 inches of snow last night. And some idiot plowed his car into my driver's-side door.

Captain Crash and I went to White Castle last night to eat some sliders and play some cards. A street person started harassing us, getting all aggressive. The guy stuck his finger in my face, and all hell broke loose. Captain Crash was out of his seat in a second, towered over the guy, and yelled, "IF YOU TOUCH HER...", looking all big and scary. The guy tucked tail and ran. A bonafide My Hero moment.

I drove to Madison last weekend to spend Easter with Dad and Stepmommy. I was nervous about their acceptance of my new hair. It was cool, though. They have a rad new pad.

I think I've found a new church. I researched them on the Web, and then drove around creepily in their parking lot last night.

I had a dream that my OnDemand wasn't working. I woke up, and my OnDemand wasn't working. Weird.
