    *shudders*
So ZAZ (Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker) make Airplane and it is good.
ZAZ make Top Secret and it is also good.
Then an asylum is closed down and the inmates are given jobs as screen writers and the world suffers. Why people think that they can write comedies like this is beyond me. Mel Brooks could write similar comedies but his genius died in the 70s. I've seen a billion of these and they have 2 or three minutes of funny in a 90 minute film. These films serve only as litmus tests for stupidity and I feel nauseated just thinking about them.

I want credit for bringing this up in your Meet Dave 'friends won't let friends see.'

You forgot the Kentucky Fried Movie, Valis. :)

Awww...c'mon, Nayana - they make fun of, like, Juno, and uh, Miley Cyrus and stuff. It looks toetally off teh charts pwnzerz.

    Or something.

Yes, America - make it stop. Shit, I'd take Larry the Cable Guy over this garbage.

    Fletch-
Kentucky Fried Movie is a sketch movie, not the movie with a plot that is often ignored whilst ensuing hilarity. ;)

I would kick anyone I know who would see this filth. "Did you like Scary Movie 3?" sounds like a friendship shibboleth if there ever was one. We should start a rumor that watching Disaster Movie makes you fat and shriviles up your genitals.

I'd just like to know what elements of Juno, SATC, Enchanted, and others, equal a "disaster movie." They can't even make fun of the right films!

I don't want to be cynical about your efforts here, but there are way too many idiots walking around these days and lining up to see these. Someday we'll raise a generation who knows what a good movie actually is.

Wow... I didn't even know about this movie...

To be fair, they may finally be getting the title right. Disaster Movie is appropriate. I expect the next to be named P.O.S. Movie followed by Vomit Inducing Movie.

valis... the sad thing is that if a great low-brow comedy actually came along nowadays, we'd probably all miss it, because we're beyond burned out on this genre.

David Bishop officially gets FULL CREDIT for this post. Gold-plated poo, indeed.

Rachel... they think they'll get interest because the spoofs are relatively current and quasi-cool. Sadly, they're probably right.

    Daniel... who's "we"? *hee hee*

David... Formulaic Claptrap Movie. Cobbled Together Nonsense Movie. Randomly Computer Generated Plot Elements Movie, brought to you by the Ministry of Truth (Minitrue in Newspeak).
