great movie endings
As we all know, a movie's ending is critical. There's nothing worse than being captured by a seemingly fantastic movie, only to be let down in the end by a major cop-out of a finale.
So Entertainment Weekly (aka The Keepers of the Lists) came out with this slideshow, "20 Movie Endings We Love." I'm thinking certain filmmakers should be rounded up and forced to watch these selections. Anyone know who I'm thinking of?
My favorites are The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Lost in Translation. Comments, please.

I'm glad you mentioned 40 Year Old Virgin b/c that was always one that I was conflicted over... let me explain.
I LOVED the ending when it went from it's groom-wearing-white ending to the couples first sexual experience in bed...
... but then I was totally bummed by the Age of Aquarius ending. It was, for me, like they were pooping on the special moment they had just created. :(

Two of my favorite endings were for two of my all-time favorite movies, American Beauty and Titanic. Two endings that blew me away with their twists were The Sixth Sense and The Others.

I'm pretty disappointed that City Lights didn't make their list. There are others that I love that didn't make the list: Stranger Than Fiction or Memento.
Has there ever been a movie that you didn't like until the ending? Then, for some magic reason, it became one of your favorites?

Yep. Never Been Kissed. It came out back when I was still quasi-annoyed by Drew Barrymore, and I spent most of the time dismissing it as a generic teen movie. Then the ending blew me away. I walked out of the theater shaking. So then I watched it a bunch more times... and fell in love.
