friends won't let friends see... star wars: the clone wars
Remember when Star Wars used to be cool? Groundbreaking, even. But that was like 25 years ago. I was a cute little cherub in pigtails.
I've moved on, and so should George Lucas. MSN critic Jim Emerson agrees.
On the Tomatometer: 23%. It's not pretty.
Update: Click the link for another great reason NOT to see this one, presented by the brilliant Piper of Lazy Eye Theater.

It's unlikely that anyone moves on from a billions dollar cash cow. :)
I'm going to see it as the link below says the light saber battles are great. If it's just that then it is better than most of the movies out now that I haven't seen (still need to see Wall-E).
Star Wars is still cool too buy the way, I was just playing Lego Star Wars on the ps2 last night! :)

Everyone attacks George Lucas, but I don't even think he was all that involved with this. I did like the Clone Wars shorts when they aired on Cartoon Network a long while back, but they were free and only a few minutes each in length. While I won't see this in the theater, I imagine there's every chance I'll see the DVD. In case you missed the memo, I'm a geek.
I think The Rocker would be my Friends Won't Let Friends See pick.

You will be able to watch this on the Cartoon Network and TNT for free. The movie is just the first three episodes which starts on October 3, 2008 (Wikipedia).

I wouldn't even let me see this, let alone my friends :)
I have indeed moved on as well.

Well, if you are not gonna see Clone Wars watch Death Star Canteen in Lego!

The whole series of Eddie Izzard in legos is amazing. Tea and cake or death kills me every time!!! SO funny.
Great post!

I actually heard that a Star Wars live action television thing is on the way. It's supposed to cover the 20 years between Sith and Hope. Also, it won't center around any of the main chatacters. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a miniseries like Young Indy or an all out show like Terminator.
As much as I like to say the prequels were a letdown, I think I enjoy them a lot more than I let on. Still, I think what they could have used was a 'Han Solo.' Thank God for Serenity. It filled that void.

it's down to 19% on the tomatometer.
thankfully, i've talked my kids into going to see Wall-E again with their hard earned allowance. i haven't gotten to see it yet, but it's bound to be worth my $5 more than this piece of jetsam.
and yes, this comment has been edited to be rated "G".

I went and saw The Clone Wars yesterday and I liked it (not a surprise). It is a fun animated romp. You get to see lots of Clone troopers you played in Battlefront and light saber action galore. I went to the matinee and all the kids there loved it. So if you go expecting a good time you won't be disappointed.

Amen, hallelujah and all that crap. I've implored anyone within earshot to stop giving Luca$ their money. I don't care if he was directly involved or not - this is all his property and the first name associated with anything Star Wars.
To quote Marky Mark from the We Own the Night trailer (no, I never saw that, either): "I'm done wichu!"
