i don't care, i'm going anyway

Well, it looks like the Vali-Hi Drive In really will open this Friday. The good news: they haven't raised the price. It's still $7.50 for a triple feature, such as it is. That brings me to the bad news.....

Ugh.

This is what they're showing this weekend, in this order:
  • The Forbidden Kingdom - 73% Tomatometer - All right, it might be fun to see Jackie Chan sporting sick dreadies like mine.
  • Superhero Movie! - 15% Tomatometer - Yeah. The Leslie Nielsen one. Ick.
  • Never Back Down - 26% Tomatometer - They should be paying me to watch this dreck.
OK, yeah, it's a crap selection. Whatever. I'm going for the hot dogs, potato salad, and large quantities of chilled wine. I may lobby Captain Crash for us to leave right after the first feature anyway.

I was really hoping for Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Why, Vali-Hi, why???

But it's in the 60's today, and I can smell summer. Even a night of trash cinema can't bring me down.

Hi, thanks for the welcome to LAMB, it's nice being part of blogging fraternity.

I'm so jealous, even if the films are a little rubbish, at least you have sun and wine. England isn't a picnic right now, so your blog is the closest I've been to sun in some while.

Have a good time and thanks again for the welcome

In general, when they have to remind you that you're watching a 'movie' in the title, it's not a good sign. The only exceptions I can think of would be TV shows that become movies or maybe a movie that's about a movie.

With a crap start like this, the season can only get better! It will be fun just for the venue .... enjoy!

I think drive-ins get new releases a week late (at least). Not that it's some rule, just what I've noticed...

    Enjoy the crapfest. ;)

Ibetolis... it's great to have you! I'm not sure about the sun, but there will be wine... oh yes, there will be wine.

    Chris... Word.

Linda... I said a long time ago that I'd go no matter what they were showing. Sounds like the movie gods decided to make me eat my words.

    1minute... thanks! and you're welcome.

Fletch... I know I've seen movies at the Vali-Hi the day they opened... but they have been postponing their opening week after week, so that's probably why our movies are a bit aged.

I think bad movies are more fun at the drive-in. You'll have to post afterwards and let us know how it was.

Dude, The Forbidden Kingdom was freakin awesome. It'd be awesome to see it at a drive-in.
