nonreview: slumdog millionaire
This one is tearing it up on the awards circuit this year. It just won Best Motion Picture - Drama at the Golden Globes last Sunday, but it also snagged what I think is a much greater honor: the best-reviewed movie of 2008 by the members of the LAMB (my kickass movie association), with an average rating of 5 LAMBs!
I also really enjoyed it. It was the first movie I went to see with Nuevo Man; afterwards he said what has come to be his standard post-indie movie observation: "I liked it a lot more than I thought I would." There's hope for him yet, folks.

Yea, that is a high honor for the Slumdog. The only caveat I can think of is that The Dark Knight had a lot more votes and, as such, more chances for some loopy folks to give it low scores (which happened). I was surprised that the lowest for Slumdog was 4.5. Impressive.
So...Nuevo Man...tell us more. Is he aware of The Center Seat yet?

Nuevo Man is aware. This may seem a bit weird... but my blog is usually one of the first thing I show to prospective dates. I feel like it's a really good way to get to know me. And I've actually been dating him since mid-December... it usually takes a while to write about them. I gotta see if they're going to be around long enough to make it worth while, you know?
