WWII movies are more about battles than the whole war, so there are a lot of stories to tell. I wouldn't be particularly interested in a D-day story because I've already seen it done well.

I lump my initial reaction of W together with Stone's World Trade Center. I really just don't see why it needed to be made. And just like World Trade Center, I'll wait for the reviews/word-of-mouth to make my decision.David Bishophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13197460162322912519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8093577975402549581.post-45547060653787228892008-08-04T13:25:00.000-05:002008-08-04T13:25:00.000-05:00I don't think a movie about tricky Dick is ruined ...I don't think a movie about tricky Dick is ruined just because you already know he is a sorta power mad asshole. I don't think an Arthurian movie is pointless just because you know little Art is going to free the sword from the stone. Are all ww2 movies without merit since we know who wins?valishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09961528605975277364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8093577975402549581.post-50647260748621707962008-08-04T12:06:00.000-05:002008-08-04T12:06:00.000-05:00If everybody already knows he's a screw up, then w...If everybody already knows he's a screw up, then what's the point of this movie?

I still think the idea isn't original. Same with this being controversial or not.

The clincher for me is James Cromwell, looks like a killer role for him (George the 1st).valishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09961528605975277364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8093577975402549581.post-34965151114028871382008-08-01T15:10:00.000-05:002008-08-01T15:10:00.000-05:00I'm all over this but am rather disappointed that ...I'm all over this but am rather disappointed that it's beginning to look like a caricature of the man's presidency.

The guy stirred controversies with JFK and NATURAL BORN KILLERS...and *this* is the best he can do??

I disagree with David a bit - I don't think Bush-bashing is unoriginal, I just think it's preaching to the choir.Ryan McNeilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00440134802928893661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8093577975402549581.post-14529252115508736982008-07-31T20:49:00.000-05:002008-07-31T20:49:00.000-05:00I think Bush bashing is one of the most unoriginal...I think Bush bashing is one of the most unoriginal ideas. Not really all that controversial either given his approval rating. Maybe if this were made within the first term of his presidency, I'd be more interested. As it stands, I'll wait for the reviews on this one.David Bishophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13197460162322912519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8093577975402549581.post-5352609637523755822008-07-31T19:15:00.000-05:002008-07-31T19:15:00.000-05:00I cannot wait! Honestly, most of what I believe about the JFK assassination comes from his movie and I think it doesn't really look like the Bush bash bonanza people make it out to be.

I'm also of the opinion that Bush should drawn and quartered in Times Square on NBC Nightly News. You know, for war crimes and stuff.Big Mike Mendezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13883097296917205119noreply@blogger.com
